Bathroom mobility accessibility requirements

a. The accessible toilet in each accessible guestroom bathroom centered 18" from the adjacent side wall, which is the distance that will permit a person with a mobility impairment to use the grab bars.

b. The toilet in each accessible guestroom bathroom have a horizontal grab bar along the adjacent side wall that is at least 42" long and mounted 33"-36" above the floor for stabilization and assistance during transfer from a wheelchair.

c. The accessible toilet in each accessible guestroom bathroom have a horizontal grab bar along the wall behind the toilet that is at least 36" long and mounted 33"-36" above the floor for stabilization and assistance during transfer from a wheelchair.

d. The lavatory (wash basin) in each accessible guestroom bathroom no more than 34" high with at least 29" high clearance under the front edge to allow persons who use wheelchairs to pull under the lavatory and use the faucet hardware.

e. The accessible guestroom bathroom has a faucet that is easily operable (i.e.: levers, wrist blades, single arm, etc.) and usable with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist.

f.There clear floor space in each accessible guestroom bathroom where persons who use wheelchairs can turn around - either a 60" diameter circle or a "T"-turn.

g. There is adequate room for a person who uses a wheelchair to approach the bathroom door in each accessible guestroom bathroom from the pull side and pull it open without it hitting the wheelchair.

h. Alternate roll-in type shower compartment is 36 inches (915 mm) wide and 60 inches (1525 mm) deep and there is a 36 inch (915 mm) wide entry at one end of the long side of the compartment.

i. Shower Grab bars comply with ADA Section 609 and are provided in accordance with 608.3.

2. Room Mobility Accessibility Information

a. All entry doors to accessible guestrooms and other interior doors (except doors on shallow closets) allow at least 32" of clear passage width to accommodate persons who use wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers.

b. Door hardware (levers, pulls, panic bars, etc.) on all entry doors to accessible guestrooms and other passage doors within the room usable with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist, since many persons with disabilities may not have high manual dexterity or use of both hands.

c. On the pull side of each door (i.e.: entry door, connecting room door, bathroom doors and other passage doors) in every accessible guestroom/suite, are there at least 18" of clear floor space on the latch side.

d. Accessible desk has a surface height of no more than 34 inches and no less than 28 inches above the floor. Also, the desk has at least 27 inches of knee clearance provided between the floor and the underside of the table.

e. An accessible route provides access to each accessible table and a clear floor area 30 inches by 48 inches is provided at each accessible seating location. This clear floor area extends 19 inches under the table to provide leg and knee clearance.

f.Accessible guestroom with two beds next to one another, there is a minimum of 36" between the two beds to allow persons who use wheelchairs to transfer onto either bed.

3. Accessible Parking

a. Each accessible parking space have or share an adjacent access aisle to allow persons who use wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids to transfer from their car/van.

b. The parking spaces and access aisles have surface slopes less than 1:50.

c. Each accessible parking space have a post- or wall-mounted sign with the symbol of accessibility mounted high enough so the sign is visible when a vehicle is parked in the space.

d. The level surfaces of accessible parking spaces and access aisles free of "built-up" curb ramps so persons who use mobility aids (e.g.: wheelchairs, walkers or crutches) can make convenient transfers.

e. The accessible parking spaces are the closest parking spaces to the lobby entrance and accessible guestroom entrance(s)

Apollo Community Regional Park Apollo Community Regional Park

Apollo Community Regional Park, named in honor of the Apollo 11 astronauts, was dedicated in 1972 and features three man-made lakes. The 54-acre park hosts three fishing derbies every year, two for adults and one for youth, with prizes awarded for the biggest catch. Patrons can enjoy lunch under one of the many picnic shelters or just take a leisurely stroll on the walking paths around the beautiful lakes.

Dry Town Water Park Dry Town Water Park

Dry Town Water Park is a water park operated by the city of Palmdale, California, opened in 2006. It is located on the grounds of the Palmdale Oasis Park & Recreation Center in the southeast portion of the city. It is open each year from the Memorial Day weekend in May through Labor Day in September. The park features six water slides, a toddler water fun zone with three slides and water play devices, a lazy river, as well as various swimming pools and a dining area. The six acre park features four main attractions. A tower structure that holds three serpentine style slides accompanied by a three foot deep “catch pool”. A second tower structure that holds four individual slides accompanied with a runout at the end. An aqua play zone designed for kids accompanied with three more slides and zero-depth area with a giant bucket that can splash dozens of people. Lastly, the park offers a 725-foot lazy river that winds around the center of the park, making it the park's largest attraction.

Museum of Art and History Museum of Art and History

MOAH, the Museum of Art and History, is located in Lancaster, California. The museum’s exhibits focus on post-war American art with an emphasis on California art. MOAH also preserves and exhibits historical artifacts from the Antelope Valley and offers exhibitions of local artists. At its current location, MOAH is an anchor of the BLVD, the community-focused development of Lancaster Blvd. Opened in 2012, the Museum consists of three floors and 20,000 square feet of programmable space. Special focus is given to exhibitions and engagement that connect relevant arts to the region’s history, ranging from Native Americans and pioneers to aerospace.

Antelope Valley Antelope Valley

Antelope Valley is located in northern Los Angeles County, California, and the southeast portion of Kern County, California, and constitutes the western tip of the Mojave Desert. It is situated between the Tehachapi and the San Gabriel Mountains. The valley was named for the pronghorns that roamed there until they were all but eliminated in the 1880s, mostly by hunting, or resettled in other areas. The Antelope Valley Indian Museum State Historic Park is a state historic park of California, USA, interpreting Native American cultures of the Great Basin and surrounding regions. The park and its grounds are situated on the Antelope Valley's rural east side in northern Los Angeles County, California. The museum contains the combined collections of H. Arden Edwards and subsequent owner and anthropology student Grace Oliver. The exhibits represent and interpret Native Americans groups, both aboriginal and contemporary, of the Southwest, Great Basin, and Californian cultural regions. A number of the artifacts on display are rare or one-of-a-kind items. The museum was originally constructed by homesteader/artist H. Arden Edwards in 1928. The chalet-style structure was built over the rock formation of Piute Butte in the Mojave Desert. The unusual folk art structure, originally used as a home, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
